Summary: Overall Rules
  • Kanae will play Evanescent Existence, Earthen Miraculous Sword and Reactivate Majestical Imperial on Basic Mode Unreal difficulty during this stream.
    • He admits that he doesn't have nearly enough practice to actually beat the games on Unreal, especially stressing that he's completely forgotten how any of the stages went, so he gave himself unlimited lives for the occasion. Instead, he decided to give himself a variety of penalties depending on how many lives he loses.
    • He further elaborates that he originally planned for the penalty to be eating a number of the Every Flavour Beans that he got from Universal Studios Japan based on how many times he dies, but considering how tired he is after the marathon, he decided to make the penalties something that would happen at a later date instead.
    • Deaths will be counted by a number in the left-top corner of the screen; Each extend reduces the death count by 1.
  • Ultimately, Kanae decided on the following penalty system, counted separately for each game:
    • Up to 10 lives lost: No Penalty
    • 11-50 lives lost: ??? (What this means was never addressed.)
    • More than 51 lives: Horror Game Stream
  • Additionally, Kanae put up a poll allowing the viewers vote according to their guesses as to how many times he'd die (in ranges of 10). If the range with the most guesses is correct, he adds an additional horror game stream to his schedule.
Summary: Evanescent Existence
  • Thinking 50 deaths too easy to avoid, Kanae decided to start off with a no bomb run of EE, to see how many times he'd die.
    • He adds that he's never done this before, and is unsure how it'd turn out.
  • Kanae picked Yabusame Houen as his playable character, reasoning that they'd be helpful for the stages, which he's more concerned about.
  • Kanae's comments during the game:
    • He complains that his past self didn't make the window size adjustable.
    • He quickly regrets making this a no bomb run, but holds to it regardless.
    • When fighting against Fake Tsubakura Enraku, he quickly bargains with himself to allow the use of flash bombs, which he did.
    • When fighting against Hooaka Shitodo, he accidentally pressed the bomb button, using one after all.
  • Final Death Count: 98
    • The viewer poll did not guess the range correctly.
    • Kanae added 1 horror game stream to his stream.
Summary: Earthen Miraculous Sword
  • Kanae allowed himself to use bombs this time.
  • Kanae picked Yabusame as his playable character again.
  • Kanae's comments during the game:
    • He shares that he's only slept 3 hours last night, since he still has to work on the 18th's announcement video, as well as prepare materials for the quizzes. He adds that he's quite proud of the "Len'en Maniac's Quiz", finding what he's made quite fun.
    • During the Stage 1 battle against Jun Amanomiya, Jun's umbrellas were invisible, causing him to panic about whether this was a bug that's been in the game the entire time or just in this unique version. After being assured by the viewers that this bug doesn't occur in the released version of the game, Kanae returns to focusing on the game.
    • When Sukune Katano used the spell Grinding "Grinder Earth", he panics and shouts that he doesn't remember making this spell at all, and joking blames the game for "creating spells all on its own".
    • When fighting against Adagumo no Yaorochi, he explains that the penultimate spell, "Form is Emptiness" on Unreal, is meant to represent Yaorochi charging up power for their final spell, "Heaven-Mowing Sword" on Unreal.
  • Final Death Count: 36
    • The viewer poll guessed the range correctly.
    • Kanae added 1 horror game stream to his stream.
Summary: Reactivate Majestical Imperial
  • Under pressure from the views, Kanae returned to restricting himself to a no bomb run.
    • In exchange, the penalty ranges were changed as follows:
Up to 15 lives lost: No Penalty
      16-75 lives lost: ???
More than 76 lives: Horror Game Stream
  • Kanae notes that if he gets hit during Jar Zenith Mode and auto-deathbombs, that still counts as a death, and he'll intentionally take a hit afterwards to increment the counter.
  • Kanae picked the Shrine Team as his playable characters.
  • Throughout the game, Kanae accidentally bombs several times, intentionally getting hit every time to make up for it.
  • Final Death Count: 66
    • The viewer poll did not guess the range correctly.
    • Kanae did not have to add another horror game stream to his stream.

Summary
  • Kanae explains the rules of the quiz:
    • Viewers vote on 1 out of 4 answers through the chat poll, and whichever option gets the most voters are considered the viewers' collective choice.
    • Kanae has two "win conditions":
  1. Viewers correctly answer less than 25% of the questions.
  2. Viewers correctly answer 8 or less questions.
  • For the quiz itself, see:
  • Kanae shares that he originally wanted to make an English version of the quiz as well, but didn't have the time to do so. He adds that he'll try to make an English version the next time.
  • When reading out spell card titles, Kanae stresses that what he says should not be taken as the official reading of the spells' kanji.
  • On the question about when the trial version of Evanescent Existence was first released, Kanae was genuinely surprised that so many people got it right, especially when he himself didn't even know the answer prior to making this quiz.
  • Ultimately, the viewers got 11 questions correct out of 16. Thus, Kanae "lost" the game, and had another horror game added to their future stream schedule.
  • For tomorrow's "OST Intro Quiz", Kanae shares that he plans to participate in it himself, so he and the viewers can compete.
  • He mentions that the super week activities have kept him rather busy and unable to prepare the video for the 18th, and so apologises for the chance that the video might get delayed by a week.
    • He adds that if the video really does get delayed, the "after-party stream" he has planned for the 19th will also be delayed by a week.

Kanae guessed correctly from 0.5s of the song.

15 0.7s 1.5s Empire Power ~ Eternal Force

(BPoHC - Ending)
Kanae guessed correctly from 0.7s of the song.
  • Kanae additionally competes with the viewers to see which side would first guess the song correctly.
    • However, due to the format of the stream, it was difficult to tell which side won first, so it was a relatively casual affair with Kanae tending to judge in his own favour for a variety of reasons, such as the viewers only typing where the song plays but not its name.
    • He promises that if he loses, he'll add another horror game stream to his schedule; and jokes that if he wins, fans will have to send him superchats once the function is unlocked to afford him McDonald's.
    • The final question offered 1,000,000 points to give the viewers a chance to turn things around, and Kanae decided to give both sides the points when they tied, despite prior ties giving neither sides points.
    • Ultimately, the score is Kanae: 10,000,003 to Viewers: 10,000,001, meaning Kanae won.
  • Kanae admits that he originally wanted the program to be able to skip past silence at the beginning of tracks, but didn't have enough time to do so.
  • Kanae did one more question in the very end as a bonus question, asking viewers to guess what it'd be prior to even playing it. Kanae guessed In This World ~ Monochrome eye, but the song turned out to be Prismic Accelerator, which someone in chat actually managed to call.
  • Kanae mentions that he's unsure how to handle tomorrow's BPoHC stream, as each run through the game is rather long, and unlike the first three games, it's expected for the player to get hit quite a bit in this game.

Summary: Overall Rules
  • Kanae explains that they'll be playing the Haze and Brilliant routes of Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle.
    • He'll be playing on the Unreal difficulty mode with instant-death mode turned on.
    • He'll use the Shrine Team (Main: Yabusame Houlen, Sub: Tsubakura Enraku, Support: Shion).
    • Bombs are forbidden but flash bombs are allowed.
    • Deaths are counted by the number underneath the flashbomb gauge, and extends do not reduce the number by 1 this time.
    • In terms of upgrades, he limits himself to a maximum upgrade level of LV300, the rules of the The More Well-Armed, the More Interesting achievement in-game.
    • Unlike the last stream, where he had unlimited lives and his power does not decrease after each death, this time he will only have unlimited lives.
  • Penalty Rules:
    • 0-50 deaths: No horror game stream
    • 50-250 deaths: If the viewers correctly guess the number range in which Kanae's total number of deaths will land in, +1 horror game stream
    • 250 or more deaths: +1 horror game stream
Summary: Haze Route
  • Kanae admits that he honestly doesn't actually have anything planned for tomorrow's "Make a Len'en Series Timeline" stream, and thus decided to cancel the stream to instead focus on making the video to be released on the 18th.
    • Instead, he might do it roughly in the 19th's after-party stream.
    • He also notes that the video won't be particularly long, so viewers should not expect too much from it.
  • Kanae shares that he hates the Horizontal Flip sub-event, as games with gimmicks where the up and down controls reversed are found ever now and then, but left and right not as common. He also adds that he likes the Complete Flip sub-event the best out of the three.
  • Kanae notices several oddities from this version of the game:
    • He notices that the flash bomb gauge is increasing far too quickly, attributing it to his making this version of the game (with the death counter) from the playtesting version, and decided to forbid the use of flash bombs as well.
    • He also realises that just like in the version of Earthen Miraculous Sword made for these streams, Jun Amanomiya's umbrellas are again invisible.
    • Additionally, he noticed that midbosses are much rarer that he thought they'd be, though is unsure if this is an actual oddity or if he was just lucky.
    • Also, contrary to what he said prior, he does still have infinite power. He considers this fine, since he also banned flash bombs for himself.
  • Kanae mentions that he's particularly fond of Para's theme, Microcosm ~ Homunculus nightmare.
  • Number of deaths: 79
Summary: Brilliant Route
  • For the Brilliant route, Kanae played without any upgrades at all.
  • Kanae shares that the bullet pattern predominantly featured in Medias Moritake's second non-spell off of penguin chicks.
  • Kanae notes that one is meant to deal with Kaoru Kashiwagi's spells by using flash bombs to remove the arrows certain patches of poison are tied to.
  • Kanae realises that the bullets in the credits minigame are invisible, and wonders if it's because he's now using a newer version of Visual Studio.
  • Number of deaths: 311
    • The total number of deaths adds up to 390, thus Kanae adds another horror game stream to his stream schedule, for a total of 5 horror game streams.
  • Kanae mentions that he'd like to have a genuine playthrough of the games someday, with sufficient practice on his end.

17 November 2023[edit | edit source]

As mentioned on the previous day, the stream was cancelled.

18 November 2023[edit | edit source]

Summary
  • Kanae announces the beginning of the 10th Len'en annviersary after-party stream.
    • He shares that he bought McDonald's as usual, as well as some alcohol in celebration.
    • For his McDonald's purchase, he didn't buy any burgers this time, just a French Fries and McNuggets set as well as the time-limited "White Choco Strawberry Frappe". He admits that it's quite expensive, but thought that the occasion calls for it.
    • For alcohol, he as a bottle of Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which he received from an acquaintance, as well as 3 cans of alcohol, including Jack Daniel's Whiskey & Coca-Cola as well as Sapporo Craft Spice Soda.
    • He admits that he already had two cans of his alcohol prior to the stream.
    • He has a toasts with the viewers to thank them for participating in the 10th Len'en anniversary, and to wish that Len'en would continue going strong in the future as well.
  • On yesterday's video, 10th Len'en Anniversary: Major Announcement:
    • Kanae shares that he went to check how long it's been since he announced Monochrome World, and was surprised at it being announced 7 years ago. He also adds that he didn't actually start development on the game until 3 months ago.
    • He shares that he's so far worked on coming up with the overall concept, story, visual design and gameplay, and that this brainstorming period took him the longest, around 2 months.
    • He entered actual development of the game during the second week of the marathon productivity streams (around 23 October 2023), and thus likely worked on the game for 3 weeks at most. In this phase, programming took him the most time.
    • Making the video itself didn't actually take him that long, he completed the music for the video 12 hours prior to its premier, finished recording footage for the video 8 or 6 hours prior (he was unsure) and editing the actual video together took only around 3 hours.
    • He clarifies that this means the games he'll be working on will now be Book of the Cafe and Monochrome World, and that Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle -Golden Chapter- will be left on the back burner for a while.
    • He mentions that, once he uploaded the video and set its premier time, he planned to sleep until the video premiered, but he didn't get much rest due to his nerves.
    • He adds that he did actually get a brief moment of sleep, wherein he had a nightmare that the video's contents somehow got leaked and everyone learnt that it was about Monochrome World before the video premiered.
    • He mentions that there's a secret hidden in a single frame in the video, but refused to elaborate further. Though he also adds that he doubts fans would understand what it means even if they found it.
  • Kanae talks about the merchandise announced on the anniversary day:
    • He shares that the pins have already arrived in storage, and can be put on sale anytime he wants. They'll be sold separately, and not as a set of 4.
    • For the tote bags, a test sample has been sent to Kanae, which he which he realised doesn't hold much, and is considering making it larger.
    • For the stickers, the test samples only just arrived today, and he tested on stream whether the logos on the sticker sheet can actually be separated using scissors. He also adds that they're on the small side, e.g. the Reactivate Majestical Imperial sticker is about 3.5cm wide and 3cm tall, perfect for sticking onto the back of mobile phones. He's quite satisfied with them, and thinks they can be sold as they are.
    • He adds that he might consider making bigger versions of the stickers, where they'd be sold individually, if there is demand for it as well.
    • He also adds that once the pre-made stock has run out, sales will switch to a make-to-order model instead. This way, fans will always be able to purchase the merch, though it will be slightly more expensive once it switches to make-to-order.
    • He concludes that he'll make his mind up on the bag soon, and that he'll officially share information on all the merch afterwards on Twitter.
  • Kanae looks back on the various events of the anniversary:
    • On the new episode of Len'en TV, 10th Len'en Anniversary Video. He shares that it's been a long while since either JynX or he played the MIDI keyboard, on which they recorded their respective parts of piano medley's "live recording", so there were some mistakes in their playing.
    • On day 1 of the Len'en Super Week, he highlights that Kuroji Shitodo [EE] won the race and will get a buff.
    • On day 3's Len'en Maniacs' Quiz, he shares that it took lot more work than expected to prepare for the quiz, but he's glad that both he and the viewers had fun. He also shares that he originally found a tool online that could display such quizzes, but that he found a bug in it the day before the stream and had to change how things were done. Instead, he decided to make one himself if he were to ever do another one.
    • On day 4's "Guess the song from the intro" quiz, he shares that he was really impressed by how many people were able to guess the songs so quickly. He also adds that he originally planned to make up for it by doing so today, but realised that he doesn't quite have the energy for it, and so decided to save it for the future.
    • On the cancelled day 6 "Len'en Series Timeline Creation" stream, he mentions that cancelling it was truly the correctly choice, since he doubts that he would've managed to complete the video in time otherwise.
  • Kanae again mentions their plans to unlock the superchat and membership functions on their birthday, 12 December.
  • Kanae takes a look at all the art drawn for the Len'en Drawing Party.
    • He is extremely impressed at how detailed many pieces of the art are, as well as how many people actually joined.
    • He shares that he was initially quite worried about what he would do if there was a lot of blank spaces left on the original cavas, and never expected that he would have to set up a whole 3 canvases.
    • He mentions that he'd later combine the three "venues" into a single piece of fanart and share it with the viewers.
    • He adds that the words which read "The video is done!! by JynX" (動画できたー!!by JynX) on the Eye of Senri in the third venue was actually added by him the moment he completed the major announcement video.
    • When asked, he says that he has no issues on his end with people using the art in the collab as their social media profile pictures, but that they should make sure to ask for permission from the original artist as well.
    • He mentions that he originally planned to turn it into merch, but realised that he forgot to add in the room rules that "all art drawn may be used in merchandising", and is unsure how to ask permission now that it's after-the-fact.
  • Kanae jokingly laments that he has to 5 horror game streams on his agenda now, and adds that he'll likely take a week-long break from streaming to recuperate before tackling them the week after.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. The original description reads, "These are tough questions, I wonder how many you'll get correct~?", where "tough questions" (難問) and "how many questions" (何問) were both read and written as "nanmon" (ナンモン).
