Translation of the tweet[edit source]

Transcribed here for convenience:

天影戦記いつ完成するかな〜
スケジュール狂いまくってるから見当がつかなくなってきた…

取り敢えずクリスマス動画の制作までには完成させないと死ねる

For the first two lines, I have

When will BPoHC be finished?
My schedule's become crazy so I have no idea.

But I'm interpreting the last line as "First of all, if I don't get done by the production of the Christmas animation I might die".

Can someone confirm or refute this translation? Fluffy8x (talk) 07:54, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

When am I ever going to finish BPoHC?
My schedule's gotten so out-of-hand, I don't even know anymore...
But for now, if I don't finish it before my Christmas video, I'm going to die.
Obviously, the "I'm going to die" part was said in jest. I highly doubt JynX would actually kill himself over not being able to release the game by the end of the year. --Popfan (talk) 08:45, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Final Release?[edit source]

Has there been any announcements about the final release of BPoHC? I can see images on his Twitter that are silhouettes of returning characters and characters I don't recognise, so I'd've guessed he's definitely near to completion? ― Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 22:25, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

From what I understand, JynX's SD-20 sound module broke down and he neither has the skills to repair it nor the money to have it repaired or replaced, so unless he's all done with the soundtrack, this is going to put a damper on the game's progress. I've been urging him to set up a PayPal donation pool, but I'm not sure if and when he's gonna go through with it. --Popfan (talk) 09:55, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
If you can, could you list translated sources as to where he stated that? It'll be valid information to further explain on the page why he's yet to release the game. ― Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 19:22, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Mayfly vs Dragonfly[edit source]

The word 蜉蝣 (kagerou) seems to have the meaning of both "mayfly" and "dragonfly". However, this image, which is used as the background for the sub-events when a 蜉蝣軍 (dragonfly/mayfly army) attacks in a given cell clearly shows dragonflies. Here's a mayfly in comparison. The silhouettes in the image have four wings, just like dragonflies, whereas mayflies only have two wings. That's why I changed all instances of "mayfly" to "dragonfly". ――Popfan (talk/contribs) 14:27, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this up; I hadn't investigated the kanji all that thoroughly until now.
  • The word tonbo means 'dragonfly', and the word kagerou means 'mayfly'.
  • The kanji "蜉蝣" are used in RMI's ending, and "蜻蛉" are used in BPoHC. Nowadays, "蜉蝣" is generally read as kagerou (mayfly) and "蜻蛉" is generally read as tonbo (dragonfly). But in older contexts up until the Edo(?) period, the two terms were often used interchangeably, as the two species were thought of as the same thing. Examples include the poet Michitsuna no Haha's Kagerou Diary, and the chapter Kagerou in the Tale of Genji. (The Tale of Genji is also referenced in BPoHC in the 'Chamber of Ukifune' stage title and in Kaoru Kashiwagi's name.)
  • The army and castle are clearly identified as the Kagerou no Gun and Kagerou no Shiro in the text. (The word kagerou also means 'heat haze' when spelt with the kanji "陽炎", as in Chouki's title and the Stage 5 theme. Mayflies and heat haze have long been associated with each other in Japan, as both are symbols of ephemeral, fleeting things-- much like how the castle itself appears and disappears.)
So, like, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be mayflies? Probably.
Asking JynX is always an option too tho Gilde (talk) 04:23, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
Asking JynX is what I did. He just replied and said the meaning he intended was トンボ, i.e. dragonfly. So I was right. ――Popfan (talk/contribs) 19:39, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Spell Card images and numbers?[edit source]

Any ideas on how to numerate those?(Also if add spellcard template, then what english translation to use, if use any) I've got all Yago's regular extra card screenshots here downscaled to 398x438 (because I played in fullscreen) and as a self-proclaimed spellcard collector I'd like to share them with the wiki~ (Plus I have 9 Haiji's spell screenshots as well) (I plan to see and do screenshots of (almost?) every attack in le04) --Freddy-Bad-Add (talk) 18:18, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Nevermind~ Adding stuff with names of LE04SCxxx.jpg and in 192px preview size (398x438 res) :3 --Freddy-Bad-Add (talk) 17:31, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
