Gain a single instance of control over your opponent

by making them feel

an absolute sense of defeat.

Road 1[edit | edit source]

As always, the stage is mostly about streaming and speedkilling. There's more emphazis on the later though, as there are many sections where the enemies will corner you if you don't kill them in time.
The second enemy formation is pretty hard with Tsubakura. Here you can stay in the center or hug a corner and slowly move to the center while dodging the bullets. Nothing stops the bullets from screwing you up though.
This section is trivial with Yabusame and Suzumi.

Midboss Spell Card (Kuroji Shitodo)[edit | edit source]

Film Development "Reversed Film"
"Positive & Negative"
Seija looking as-wait this game was released before DDC.
The first reversal is horizontal, while the second one is vertical.
For the first reversal, stick to the side with the *most* bullets. The reversal will leave you with easier part.
The second one tends to leave a large empty area below Kuroji. Avoid the center until after the reversal and shotgun them from there.

Beating this spell drops a bomb, but don't collect it yet unless you want to waste it right afterwards.

Road 2[edit | edit source]

Immediately go to the bottom right corner and carefully go to the other side while collecting the bomb. Repeat x4.
Yabusame might need to be unfocused for this.
Suzumi doesn't need to hug to the bottom if they have a full charge.

Boss Normal Attack #1 (Kuroji Shitodo)[edit | edit source]

This is when the game gets really ugly.
The red bullets are aimed, while the blue bullets are random and very fast.
One way is to follow Kuroji. The non will be over faster, but their movement is random and you'll have to eat the spam.
Another way is to *not* follow Kuroji. While you'll miss out on damage (especially with Tsubakura), the blue spam will be easier to deal with and Kuroji will come back to the center anyways. Their movement is still random though and they can go very low on the screen.
Bomb if you feel insecure.

Boss Spell Card #1[edit | edit source]

Front and Back "Three Traitors"
Backstab "The Two-Faced and the Convicted"

This spell only has horizontal reversals. The 3-way is aimed, while the rest is random.

For the first wave, stay under Kuroji and go to the side closest to them just before the reversal. The 3-way won't reach you if you stay at the bottom and you'll have more space to follow Kuroji.
Stay around a moderate height for the rest. The 3-way will curve if you move a lot before the reversal, so you'll might to go to the middle to avoid it.

Boss Normal Attack #2[edit | edit source]

By far Kuroji's hardest non (although you could argue that their first is harder).
The lanes bounce on the walls and Kuroji's movment is random. The way hitboxes work in this game makes clipping very likely.
You could try dodging the whole lanes, and they can be slightly influenced by your movement but aside from that, you'll probably have to use a bomb.

Boss Spell Card #2[edit | edit source]

Heredity "Reverse Transcription Messenger"
RNA "Retrovirus"

This spell only has vertical reversals. Everything is affected by your movement.
Just stay right below Kuroji and use vertical movement for the blue bullets. Moving horizontaly will mess up the pattern.
This spell also has like a million safespots. You can even rotate it with Tsuba.

Boss Normal Attack #3[edit | edit source]

Pick a side and stream carefully from there. Don't be near a wall when Kuroji starts firing bullets.
Tsubakura can end this non in one wave, while Suzumi can end it in one and a half.

Boss Spell Card #3[edit | edit source]

Chaotic Dance "Blizzard Revolving at a Right Angle"
Overflow "Samidare May Storm"
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Sometimes this spell is free. Sometimes this spell is unreadable.
Kuroji moves randomly across the screen while shooting blue and red bullets, which circle around and randomly change direction.
The corners are usually the safest places, especially if Kuroji stops in the opposite side. You'll have to deal with off-screen bullets though.
It's also better to stick to the whatever side Kuroji doesn't go, but if they choose the center you're screwed.

This spell is especially bad with Tsubakura due to their narrow shot, so you'll probably have to bomb here.
Yabusame and Suzumi have a much easier time in comparision due to their homing shots. Suzumi in particular can end it in one wave if they luck out.

This spell has low HP, so a bomb at full power should deplete most of it.
If you want to skip this spell with Tsubakura, you must do it shortly after the wave starts, as Kuroji's random movement makes them hard to hit.

This spell is twice as dense since v1.10 for some reason.
You could psychoanalyze JynX with this spell alone...

Boss Normal Attack #4[edit | edit source]

Dodge the bouncing bullets while positioning yourself such that the bouncing green knives later on can't hit you. Do the same with the bubbles.
Tsubakura can end it before they start firing bubbles.
This spell is somewhat luck based.

Boss Spell Card #4[edit | edit source]

Reverse Card "Understanding and Injury"
Reverse Card "Comprehension and Death"
Assassination "Anti-Ripper"
Disaster Card "End is End"
Sakuya looking as-wait this game was released before ISC.
Kuroji shoots omnidirectional knives and switches positions with you. On higher difficulties the knives reach the bottom of the screen and can kill you.
This spell can be made completely static. The idea is to lead Kuroji into one of the upper corners so you can shoot them after escaping the knives.
The best position is when you and Kuroji are in diagonally opposite corners.

Boss Spell Card #5[edit | edit source]

"Invert Arch"
"Lingering Light of Glory"

Ex-Alice's second blue phase from MS.
That's it...

This is probably the hardest fight in the series (not counting BPoHC), so if you can beat Kuroji you can beat everyone else (except maybe Lumen).
