need to make 'overall world record-ex'[edit source]

in my thinking, abex scores need to highly rated than any other difficulties. so i created a table for extra difficulties. touhou doesnt have various difficulties in extra mode. so i am thinking that we have to add our original rule(make overall ex wr) abex mode is the greatest difficultie in len'en but its impossible to see abex score in present 'overall word records'. abex couldnt treated like this. its the hardest mode in len'en. touhou doesnt have abex. so i think we need to make new rule(or exception) from previous rule. i think we need to make 'overall world record-extra'. +what u guys have to understand is, len'en isnt touhou. it has different difficulties, different system, etcs. and if the game is different, using 100%same rule in other community is kinda ridiculous 223.39.191.231 10:39, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

There is no need to do that. The overall WR is for the highest score achieved in the game REGARDLESS of difficulty. If the highest score was achieved on Easy, we use that, if it was on Hard, then we use that, and if it was on ABeX, then we put that there. The high scores for the extra difficulties are already included in the extended tables below the overall WRs, and the records there break it down by shot combination too. And yes, Len'en _isn't_ Touhou. So? The games are similar enough that it'd be ridiculous to _not_ use the same rules. --Doppelotter (talk) 05:51, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

I support the idea of separating maingame and extra stages into two categories of overall WR, as the routes and strategies required to score them have been proved quite different. Plus, as len'en now has only four STGs, splitting each game into two parts won't be a redundency. --BAN_43_32532 05:00, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

Personally, I don't entirely see a need to split maingame and extra stages, but I'm not really sure either way. On the one hand, I feel like the purpose of the overall board is to highlight the largest score from each game, regardless of difficulty, and if people want to see the extra/abex world records, they can always just look at the game page (assuming extra/abex aren't already the world record.) At the same time, I'm also a supporter of BPoHC having multiple world records for lv 0 / achievement level / any upgrades (if the last two categories ever become particularly active, at least.) And I don't know if I can really point out a good difference between the two situations (maingame/extra split and upgrade level split) to justify one but not the other. Even if we do make a maingame/extra split, though, I think it should only be applied to EE/EMS/RMI. BPoHC's extra stage is more similar to the maingame than in the other three games, in my opinion. BPoHC score categories and counterstop removal[edit source]

I'd like to suggest maybe having two separate overall WR categories for BPoHC? One with upgrades, and one without? I think BPoHC level 0 scoring, at least, has enough runs to put an overall WR on the board. I've also developed a modified version of the game that allows you to see the scores of runs beyond 999,999,999. It can be used on replays of runs, as well. I'd like to suggest that for runs/replays which know the actual score by using this version, we put that score on the leaderboard instead of 999,999,999, and for runs where the actual score is not available, we attempt to contact the players and ask if they'd be willing to rerecord to get a more precise value (and if that is not possible, make an estimate of what the score is by calculating clear bonus by hand.) Perhaps also add a paragraph towards the top suggesting that for BPoHC, players either provide replays or record runs using the modified version of the game that displays actual score?

One player at least has expressed that they're not interested in scoring BPoHC further unless the scoreboard starts allowing players to list scores above 999,999,999, so I think this would be beneficial to the category as a whole. Redpenguin100 (talk) 20:18, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

I suggest having six separate WR categories for BPoHC: lv0, lv for achievement, lv not restricted; maingame, extra stage. This means we have six teams, three level requirements and six difficulties to show on the detailed leaderboard. --BAN_43_32532 05:04, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

I like the idea of having lv0, lv for achievement, and lv not restricted. I'm not sure about splitting maingame and extra though? (I'll go into maingame/extra more in a separate post under that talk category.) Redpenguin100 (talk) 19:28, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and added the tables for the three new categories. I don't really see much reason for splitting up main game and extra stage since generally speaking it's the WR of the overall game. ― Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 13:47, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
