Scoring[edit | edit source]
Details of Item[edit | edit source]
There are 7 types of items in Reactivate Majestical Imperial: powers, points, 1-ups, bombs, full-powers, yin-yangs (from bullet cancellation) and spirits.
Item Collection[edit | edit source]
The active character can collect powers, points, 1-ups, bombs, full-powers and yin-yangs, and the passive character can collect powers and spirits. The active character has a large round absorbing range in which, when focused, all powers, points, 1-ups, bombs, full-powers are dragged to the center of the relatively small round collection range of the active character. The passive character has a medium-sized round collection range which passively collects powers and spirits in it. Powers, points, 1-ups, bombs, full-powers are auto-collected to the active character when they reach the Point of collection. Yin-yangs are always auto-collected to the active character. Different Characters have different collection and absorbing ranges, and the collection range of a character as the passive one is always much larger than that as the active one. Therefore, if the active character is very low on the screen and close to the partner's position, items collected will always count as collected by the passive character. In this situation, the active collection circle is entirely within the passive collection circle.
Ability as the Passive Character Related to Items[edit | edit source]
- Yabusame Houlen always follows the horizontal position of the lowest item, including points, 1-ups, bombs, full-powers and yin-yangs which they cannot actually collect.
- Tsubakura Enraku allows Yabusame Houlen to collect spirits. but Yabusame Houlen cannot drag them when they are in the absorbing range.
- Sukune Katano always drags all powers, points, 1-ups, bombs, full-powers and spirits in the screen to the vertical position of Adagumo no Yaorochi.
Boss Fight[edit | edit source]
Except the last spell of Shion and Tenkai Zuifeng, each attack of boss drops 3 large powers, 4 small powers, 3 large points, 5 small points. This means the items normally increase the point counter by 39. If the attack is captured, the boss drops 75 spirits. Otherwise it drops 25. During Shion's fight, each miss takes away 300 spirits, the start of each spell takes away 100, and they decrease at a rate of 6 per seconds. At the start of Extra+α stage, Sese Kitsugai takes all your spirits away.
Power Item[edit | edit source]
Type | Collected by not-max-power active character | Collected by not-max-power passive character | Collected by a max-power character |
Small | active character's power + 0.01 | passive character's power + 0.02 | the other character's power + 0.01 if not max-power; score + 200, point counter + 1 |
Large | active character's power + 0.30 | passive character's power + 0.60 | the other character's power + 0.10 if not max-power; score + 1,000, point counter + 5 |
To get a higher point counter, you may:
- prefer to let the passive character collect large powers when they are not max-power.
- exchange characters when the passive one is max-power but the active one is not.
- prefer to collect large powers when not max-power, for example after a miss.
Double Power Collection Glitch[edit | edit source]
When a power item enters the collection ranges of both characters, it is technically collected by both characters. This means if you duplicate a small power with both characters at max power, you will increase score by 400 and point counter by 2. If you duplicate all powers dropped by a boss, you can increase the point counter by 58 instead of 39. You can increase the probability of duplication by first moving to a specific height decided by the characters you use, and then aligning the horizontal position of both characters and powers.
- Yabusame Houlen's ability is useful because you only need to make sure Tsubakura Enraku is aligned with the items. But Yabusame Houlen is easily attracted by other items, especially points, spirits and yin-yangs (when you use a flashbomb or a screenclear occurs).
- The zenith of Shrine Team allows the active character to auto-collect items, and the high speed of the items makes them easier to enter both collection ranges at the same frame.
- Sukune Katano's ability controls powers' horizontal position precisely, so as long as Adagumo no Yaorochi is at the proper height, the probability of item duplication is close to 100%.
- Sometimes you can actively collect power items to increase duplication rate or speed up the process. For example, if the active character has a relatively high speed, such as Tsubakura Enraku, Adagumo no Yaorochi and Kuroji Shitodo, you can first move up to PoC and then quickly move down to the duplication height, so that all items are gathered and has a chance to double. Also you can move up and actively drag the items down to the height, which is especially useful when you want to duplicate items from boss drops while the next attack is threatening.
Spirit Item[edit | edit source]
Each spirit adds a 1/20,000 multiplier to all scores except bullet-cancellation you get afterwards. For instance, if the maingame ends with 4,150 spirits, the multiplier is 1 + 4,150 / 20,000 = 1.2075
, so each life gives you 20,000,000 × 1.2075 = 24,150,000
points, and the all-clear bonus is multiplied with 1.2075 (i. e. 2.415 times the number on the screen).
A normal enemy drops 3 spirits when killed, unless it is killed by Adagumo no Yaorochi's screen clear skill, in which case it drops 1 spirit.
Thrill-flashbomb Balance[edit | edit source]
In Reactivate Majestical Imperial, each thrill is worth 200 × floor(point counter / 100) × (1 + end-of-stage spirits / 20,000) × difficulty multiplier
, and the k-th bullet you cancel, when the gap between each two yin-yang items you get is within 50 frames, is worth min(5 × k + 95, 1,000)
. For example, when playing Unreal Tsubakura scoring, you can potentially get 1,500 items and 3,300 spirits at the end of Stage 3. Then at Stage 3 nonspell 3, each thrill is worth 200 × 1,500 × (1 + 3,300 / 20,000) × 1.4 = 4,893
, while if you keep using flash bombs, since you continually gets yin-yang items, each bullet gives you exactly 1,000 points. However, Tsubakura's flash bomb allows you to cancel much more bullets that are too far for you to graze. This means if you can cancel 5 bullets when you could only graze one bullet, then you should prefer using flashbombs.
- Thrill is more important in high difficulties and item-rich stages such as stage 2, 3 and extra.
- When there are only a few dozens of bullets, prefer grazing them, or first grazing then cancelling.
- When there are hundreds of bullets, prefer taking a hybrid thrill-flashbomb strategy.
Score Extend[edit | edit source]
You get an extra life when the score reaches 10,000,000, 20,000,000, 30,000,000, 50,000,000 and 100,000,000, followed by a screen clear. At the end of the game, if you reach any threshold with the help of end-of-stage bonus and the bonus of the first extra life, you will get the extend accordingly. After this, you can no longer get any extend from score.
