Lin in full design
|Full Name||Monochroid[Lin] = _Type_iX01[rei];|
Lin (リン Rin), officially Monochroid[Lin] = _Type_iX00[Rei];, is a monochroid created entirely by Rei. However, due to the fact that Rei lacks experience in making monochroids and something called the Bird's Eye, it broke down shortly after its activation. Unlike Rei and Zelo, Lin is not listed as a member of Trick Nostalgie.
Continuing with the trend of monochroids being named after zero in various languages, Lin's name comes from the Chinese pronunciation of zero, ling (零). Their name is often appended with the Japanese honorific -tan (たん).
According to Rei, Lin was made to be a "gijinka of the concept of gijinka", gijinka being the anthropomorphism of various animals and objects, a popular trend in Japanese manga and anime, examples at the time including "Kemono Friends" and "Cells at Work!". Lin's voice was also made reusing Zelo's, while their appearance was modelled after that of their own, combined with various popular gijinka motifs, including:
- Animal Ears - a reference to Kemono Friends
- Katana - a reference to Touken Ranbu
- Battleship - references to Kantai Collection and Azur Lane
- Robot - a reference to Megaman
- Hero - a reference to the Fate series
- Food - a reference to Food Fantasy
- Lame T-shirt - a reference to No Game No Life
- Airplane Wings
- Cap with the word "Calculus" - a reference to Cells at Work!
- Bird Wings
- Demon Tail(?)
Lin debuted in this video, in which they helped promote the at the time upcoming album A World That Isn't Fantasy. They broke down and was put into a trash can.
Lin participated in a gift exchange with the other monochroids in celebration of Christmas.
Rei is Lin's creator, and Lin seems to be grateful to them.
Zelo seems to be on friendly terms with Lin.
