Items are collectibles appearing throughout the Len'en Project that cause various effects when collected. Most items are mainstays that appear in all games, but a few are unique to one game and contribute to that game's unique gameplay mechanics.

Mainstay Items[edit | edit source]

Power Items Both sizes of power items[edit | edit source]

Power items are red-white circles with the letter "P" written on them. They come in small and large varieties, both increasing the player's shot power. They are dropped by most normal enemies and all bosses except the last spell of stage 6 or extra. In Evanescent Existence and Earthen Miraculous Sword, each attack of boss drops 2 large and 5 small power items. In Reactivate Majestical Imperial, each drops 3 large and 4 small power items.

In Evanescent Existence and Earthen Miraculous Sword v1.00a

Type Not at max power At max power
Small power + 0.01 score + 100, point counter + 1
Large power + 0.30 score + 500, point counter + 5

In Evanescent Existence and Earthen Miraculous Sword after v1.10a

Type Not at max power At max power
Small power + 0.02 score + 100, point counter + 1
Large power + 0.50 score + 500, point counter + 5

In Reactivate Majestical Imperial after 1.00a

Type Collected by not-max-power active character Collected by not-max-power passive character Collected by a max-power character
Small active character's power + 0.01 passive character's power + 0.02 the other character's power + 0.01 if not max-power, score + 200, point counter + 1
Large active character's power + 0.30 passive character's power + 0.60 the other character's power + 0.10 if not max-power, score + 1,000, point counter + 5

Point Items Both sizes of point items[edit | edit source]

Point items are blue-white circles with a black circle in the middle. They are dropped by most normal enemies and all bosses except the last spell of stage 6 or extra. Like power items, they come in two sizes. Both add 500 points (1,000 in Reactivate Majestical Imperial after v1.00a) to the score when collected, regardless of their vertical position on the screen. On top of that, small point items add 1 to the point counter while large point items add 5. In Evanescent Existence, Earthen Miraculous Sword and Reactivate Majestical Imperial, each attack of boss drops 3 large and 5 small point items.

Full Power Items A full power item[edit | edit source]

Full power items are yellow-white circles with the letter "S" written on them. They boost the player's shot power to its maximum capacity while adding 20,000 points to the score. So far, the only time it has ever been seen was in Reactivate Majestical Imperial's final stage.

1-ups and Bombs A 1up on the left and a bomb on the right[edit | edit source]

1-ups are purple-white circles with "1up" written on them while bombs are green-white with the letter "B". As one might expect, they give the player an extra life and an extra bomb respectively when collected. On top of that, bombs add 100,000 points while 1-ups add 1,000,000 points (200,000 and 2,000,000 in Reactivate Majestical Imperial after v1.00a). In Evanescent Existence, Earthen Miraculous Sword and Reactivate Majestical Imperial, they are dropped by midbosses and certain enemies, whereas in Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle, every boss or midboss drops a bomb when defeated while every stage 3 and 5 boss drops a 1-up.

Yin-Yang Items A yin-yang item[edit | edit source]

Yin-yang items are grey squares with a yin yang in them. They are generated from destroyed bullets. Their value starts out at 100 points, but increases up to 1,000 points with each consecutive item collected. Unlike all other items, they are always auto-collected.

Game-specific Items[edit | edit source]

Reactivate Majestical Imperial[edit | edit source]

Spirit Items A spirit item

Spirit items are grey translucent circles with a red-orange dot in the middle. They can only be collected by the current passive character in the team (with the exception of Yabusame Houlen, who can collect them when active, but has to touch the items with their hitbox because they cannot be attracted by focusing). Collecting spirit items fills the spirit jar and the team enters Jar Zenith Mode with every 200 spirits collected. Every 200 spirits add 0.01 to a score multiplier which applies to all socres except yin-yang items. Each normal enemy drops 1-3 spirits when killed. Each attack of boss drops 75 spirits if captured, or 25 otherwise.

Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle[edit | edit source]

Normal Bombs A normal bomb

A type of bomb in the game which looks like a black circle with a grey crescent moon on it, possibly a variation on the Eye of Senri symbol. Acts like the bombs in the previous three games.

Power Bombs A power bomb

A type of bomb in the game which looks like a red circle with a stylized black "P" in it, possibly the planetary symbol for the dwarf planet Pluto (♇). When used, the player's shot power is maxed out and the damage dealt with the bomb is much stronger.

Barrier Bombs A barrier bomb

A type of bomb in the game which looks like a white circle with a cyan outline and a cyan cross, possibly meant to be Earth's planetary symbol (🜨). When used, the player's barriers reset to whatever amount they had at the start of the game.

Special Bombs A special bomb

A type of bomb in the game which looks like a white circle with a grey star in it. Their effect is that of the power and barrier bombs combined.
