False World is a spot the difference spin-off and potentially the sixth game of the Len'en Project. It was made by Trick Nostalgie's sole member JynX and is slated to release for the Windows operating system.

The game was first announced on 11 November 2024 as part of the 11th Year Anniversary.

Name and Concept[edit | edit source]

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The main aim of the game is to spot "anomalies" and subsequently "correct" them. An "anomaly" will differ from game to game. The world can also periodically switch between the "Time of Truths" and "Time of Falsehoods". The game will also be available in multiplayer mode.

The following short description is taken from the game's Japanese Steam store page and translated into English:

 「誰よりも多くの【イヘン】を修正し、偽りの世界で頂点に立て」 何かがおかしい世界で真の姿が見える「真の刻」と偽りの姿が見える「偽の刻」を見極め、【イヘン】を修正して他のプレイヤーの頂点に立て!様々な能力を持つキャラを使いこなして【イヘン】修正しろ!

"Fix more [anomalies] than everyone else and rise to the peak of this False World!" See through this strange world by spotting the differences between the "Moment of Truths", when the world's true form is revealed, and the "Moment of Falsehoods", when its false form is displayed. Correct these [anomalies] and steal the top spot from the other players! Master the various characters, each with their unique abilities, and fix the [anomalies]!

Story[edit | edit source]

While not much about the story is known yet, it is known that the story will revolve around a new character, Nelo, instead of the usual protagonists Yabusame Houlen and Tsubakura Enraku, though the later two appear in the game as playable characters as well.

Development[edit | edit source]

The first sign of the game's initial conceptualisation was on 26 February 2024, during a Kanae Tabinoki stream in which he mentions having recently come up with a "really fun game idea" which came to him while he was browsing for idle games to play during productivity streams.[1] Later, on 3 March 2024, during a stream where Kanae talked about the future of the series after the Book of the Cafe end of service, he mentions that he believes it would be best if he got this game out quickly, timing-wise.[2] (In retrospect it can be assumed to be to capitalise on The Exit 8's popularity at the time.) JynX would continue working on the game, including during productivity streams as Kanae, showing off various 3D assets for the game on pixiv FANBOX, including 3D models of Tsubakura and Yabusame, as well as their animations.

On 11 November 2024, as part of the 11th Year Anniversary, a teaser of the game was released on YouTube with an accompanying pixiv FANBOX post and Kanae stream. In the stream, JynX explained the full thought process behind creating this game. For one, JynX had been meaning to make a spot-the-difference Len'en spin-off game for sometime now, but had not been able to work out how it should be put together. It wasn't until they've played The Exit 8 as Kanae Tabinoki during streams that they took inspiration from it and came up with the concept for this game. Secondly, while JynX had wanted to work on Monochrome World, they felt that their 3D modelling skills was still lacking, thus made this side project as a way to practise and improve, alongside testing out how releasing games on Steam would be like.[3]

JynX had originally planned for the game's Steam page to be up by the time the anniversary video was out, but the verification process took more time than expected. The beta test version of the game is planned for early 2025, ideally in January or February. They're unsure whether to make the game free or paid. Purchasable DLC is also planned. Eventually, the Steam page became public on December 5, 2024.
