Which Orochi is it anyway?[edit source]

I think there might be a mistake here. Sure enough, Japanese mythology dictates that Yamata no Orochi was, indeed, a giant snake. The thing is, Yaorochi's profile clearly states there wasn't any giant snake at all, and JynX made him a person - a leader of the clan, in fact - for this specific project. Is it safe to say that orochi as species in Len'en aren't parts of a giant snake but rather, they're parts of a Yamata clan leader's body? --Mr(s). Carpet (talk) 15:47, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Is there any reason it can't be both? Does is matter as far as the wiki is concerned? Yes, Yaorochi and Saragimaru's origins is that they were formed from their ancestor's severed body part, and right now they're snake youkai. The characters make references to the original giant snake myth and Yaorochi never corrects them or anything. There are many other examples in Len'en of characters not being a 1:1 match of their mythological basis, yet other characters who are aware of the myth make references to their origin. It's just how stories like this use mythology.--Acy (talk) 19:45, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
