Talk:List of Spell Cards

I realized that the BPoHC Spell Card names are different than the ones in BPoHC's own Spell Card page. Should we wait until we finalize them or change some of them? Koish (talk) 12:41, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Possible mistakes and lost references[edit source]

I've been checking through the list and I noticed some overlooked things:

旋牌「イースタンガーベッジパッテ」/Rotation Card "Eastern Garbage Patch" Isn't it supposed to be "パッチ", not "パッテ" or is it actually JynX's mistake?

Intense Pressure "Schwarzwald" I think JynX mistook it with "Schwarzschild". Worth noting.

Crane's Voice Why is "Blood-lacquered Sheath" translated into Crane's Voice? There was no note either.

刺骨「アバラブレイバー」/Bone Piercing "Pleural Labour" Isn't ブレイバー/Braver a FF7 reference (Cloud's Limit Break)? Sounds like Sese is performing sword attack with a pleural bone.

Side Dish "Fuji-saaaaan! Volcano" Fujisan part is possibly based on Denki Groove's Fujisan song that repeatedly shouts "FU-JI-SAAAN!!". It was once a meme in Japan.

Thank you very much for pointing these out!
  • It's パッテ in-game, yes. Dunno why. (...in the event that it's not a mistake, maybe it's actually meant to be "Eastern Garbage Patty"? Like... a baby version of the IRL one...??)
  • Schwarzschild: ya agreed
  • Crane's Voice: oops yeah that looks like a copy/paste error, i'll fix that
  • Braver: oh GOD oh NO you're RIGHT, I completely mistranslated this back in 2014. Now that I look at it, I think I mistook "アバラブ" as the reading for 肋部?? Even though that's not how kanji pronunciations work at all and 肋部 is actually ろくぶ. Ty very much, yes, it's definitely
  • Fuji-saaaan: yep! I'll add that to the footnotes

Another Mistakes and References[edit source]

冷牌「時限式な昇華」 "時限式" feels more like "Timed" than "Temporary", this is supported by how the spell works.

Stones" and "Raindrops" are switched up in translation, unlike other variations.

Isn't this "Ready-Go-Around"? "Lady" is inconsistent with their theme song and doesn't make sense.

Upgrade of Playable Characters in BPoHC All playable characters have 3 upgrade skills and most of them are not listed. Also other characters.
