Taira no Onikado (平 鬼門) was an enigmatic character known to have been Taira no Fumikado's father and Taira no Fumina's husband. Not much is known about him, but he passed away due to a political power dispute in Devanagara. He had known Yago Ametsukana, who apparently saw Onikado go down the "same checkered fate" as the Taira clan.
His full name was Taira no Onikado (平 鬼門). The kanji "鬼門" means "demon's gate", meaning a person or thing that should be avoided, or Achilles' heel. The hiragana character no (の) used here indicates a "belonging", thus the English equivalent of their name would be "Onikado of the Taira". In ancient Japan times, it was common for aristocrats with a clan's name to have no between their clan's name and first name.
- Onikado is one of the very rare characters to have a known gender. He is referred to as chichi (父), which specifically means "father".
