- Summary
- Kanae mentions that today was a very busy day for him:
- He made and uploaded the highlight short.
- He made adjustments to the Len'en marble race's scoreboard to accommodate the new number of balls, which now automatically scrolls up and down to show all the balls' scores.
- He then had to make preparations for the stream.
- Kanae celebrates the channel passing 500 subscribers.
- Kanae worked on adding as many characters from Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle into the race.
- He managed to add BPoHC characters up to stage four (Mitsumo is instead represented by Terumi).
- Someone mentioned that the BPoHC balls seem especially large and stand out, and Kanae responded that it might be because most BPoHC characters wear big hats or have other large objects on their heads.
- Kanae isn't sure whether to make Suzumi Kuzu three balls or one.
- In regards to Mitsumo, since he couldn't really figure out how to cut out their "head" from their main body, he used Terumi instead, as they're found on Terumi's head as well.
- Kanae was asked why he didn't add the Tasouken into the game, to which he answered that it wouldn't roll very well due to its thin and long shape.
- Kanae talked about making the compilation short.
- It was originally 3 minutes long, but since YouTube shorts can only be a minute long at most, he cut it down to what we have now.
- He also considered releasing the full 3-minute version later.

- Summary
- Kanae worked on adding the rest of the Brilliant Pagoda or Haze Castle characters into the game (stage 5 bosses and onwards).
- He indeed managed to add all the characters, along with NiLU and Tom C. Zemlja as well, for a total of 44 characters.
- Suzumi Kuzu is allotted only a single ball (Hamal Cine) for now.
- Kanae will consider whether to add the other two (Arde and Benny) as well.
- Kanae declares that every main character from the Len'en series is now in the race game.
- The Terumi ball won the race but Kanae attributed the win to Mitsumo.
- On future additions to the race:
- When asked about Jinbei, Kanae responds that since they don't have an in-game dialogue portrait yet, he's elected not to put them in the race. If ever Jinbei gets one though, he will.
- The same applies to the CD characters, Haru and Hoojiro Shitodo.
- Jinbei and the CD characters, along with their fellow non-game, minor and mob characters like Taira no Chouki's Burabura, may be added at a later date.
- Kanae also thought that making them each have their abilities in the race would be interesting too, although it'd be very difficult to make.
- Kanae is also considering adding new courses to the race.
- Kanae was asked about putting the Len'en games on Steam, to which he responded that he has plans for that but is unsure when it'll happen.
- Kanae discussed the intonation of "Suzumi" with the chat, where he declared that in "Su-zu-mi", the pitch is "low-high-high", identical to how it is in "suzume" (雀 sparrow). Although he wouldn't mind if you read it some other way.

- Summary
- Kanae explained that since the automatic transcription and translation software he uses has a monthly limit on how much it can process, he won't be turning it on during productivity streams, since he doesn't talk much during them, to save the allowance for chatting and gaming streams.
- Kanae worked on adding a few more features to the Len'en marble race.
- Kanae added himself as ball No.45 of the race.
- The scoreboard now reorders itself after the final round of the races to show, from top to bottom, the highest-scoring ball to the lowest-scoring ball.
- An "award ceremony" button was added, which, when pressed, shows a results screen that displays the highest-scoring ball, the ball that was 1st the most, the ball that timed out the most and the lowest-scoring ball.

- Livestream Description
───肌を突き刺すような寒波が吹き荒れる今宵、 |
......On this frigid night where the cold wave raging outside seems to pierce your skin... |
- Summary: Answered Marshmallow asks and interacted with chat
- Kanae shows off his new appearance and virtual desktop.
- Kanae, as "revenge" for his debut stream, once again bought McDonald's food to eat on stream.
- Since he just got home before the stream, he thought the food would still be warm.
- He bought french fries and McNuggets, which were added as little images onto the desktop.
- This was the first time Kanae bought fries specifically, and not as a part of a burger set. However, the fries have gotten cold.
- The nuggets were still warm and came with a unique black pepper dip.
- The meal is also to celebrate completing a rather large job he had.
- On the highlights shorts:
- Kanae was pleasantly surprised to see how many views it had, especially since he himself rarely watches shorts.
- He again mentions that it was originally 3 minutes long, and that he should upload the full 3-minute version soon.
- Kanae is also considering making a highlight short specifically for the LOST EGG gameplay stream.
- Considered how to write "Kanae Tabinoki" in Chinese.
- He reveals that "Kanae" did originally have kanji, but he elected to write it in Japanese using hiragana since it looks cuter.
- The original plan was to write it as 神 ("god"), but it seemed too pretentious and he doesn't like it.
- Initial options considered: 香奈枝, 鼎, 叶絵, 叶恵, 華奈絵.
- Kanae would particularly like to use 「叶」 to write "kana", to mean "to fulfil (wish, dreams, etc.)", as being a game creator allows them to fulfil dreams through his games.
- Options under the above consideration: 叶絵, 叶恵,叶枝.
- Ultimately settled on 叶枝, where 枝 means branch, and even has a "tree" radical (木), tying it back to Kanae's tree theme.
Although Kanae admits that he never really had a colour that he felt like he really liked a lot.
Chat does point out that green is used quite a lot in Len'en, and that the melon soda on his desk is green too, which Kanae reasons must be because he likes the colour after all, and declares that he realized his love for green today.
He also notes that he simply finds colours around the green-purple range easy to use as accent colours, compared to colours like red, blue or yellow, which tend to pop out.
He would like mineral water, but doesn't have money to spend on water. Even so, he does think the tap water is tasty, and even more importantly, cheap.
He'd likely add Kanae as both a cafe employee and a combat unit, even adding voice lines to them like Rei's combat unit.
Most of the songs he's made come from tapping out a random melody on his keyboard and expanding upon that, so he can't really give any hints. Since he has a bunch of various melodies stored in his mind, he references those when composing.
As an example, he was composing a while ago and came up with a really good melody, but couldn't shake the feeling that he had heard it before. He then realised that it was the tune to Yakyūken (野球拳). Of course, the song was scrapped.
Kanae adds that it's very difficult to come up with something from nothing, and that almost all creative works have some sort of reference behind it, which doesn't even necessarily have to be some other creative work, it could be one's own life experience, a dream you saw, etc. So it's not a bad thing to reference other material at all, and in fact, almost everyone certainly does so.
Someone in chat mentioned that they enjoy themes with common leitmotifs in them, like that of the Dragonfly Army characters. Kanae replies that he likes them too, and is why he gave common leitmotifs for the Dragonfly Army characters and the New Emperor team's characters. He also explained that Tsugumi Umatachi doesn't have the leitmotif, which is because they were hired instead of being personally interested in bringing forth a new emperor. As for Para, they didn't have the leitmotif since they're not one of Taira no Chouki's subordinates.
They really help raise motivation at night, making them really fulfilling for me now. (夜のモチベーションが上がって充実してきました)
Is there a place that could be considered a "holy site"[c] for the Len'en series? (鏈縁シリーズなのですが聖地と呼ばれるようなところってありますか?)
Asking mainly out of curiosity. (興味半分で質問させていただきます)
Some examples he was willing to give are the many locations in Tokyo related to Taira no Masakado, one of Fumikado's bases. Famous ones include the "Head Mound" (首塚), where Masakado's head is said to have been buried, the Kanda Shrine (神田神社) where Masakado is enshrined and the Mount Narita Shinshō Temple (成田山新勝寺), which was established commemorate the victory against Masakado. Kanae had never been to the final one himeself, though it's apparently not too far from where he lives.
Additionally, he also gives the Nikkō Tōshō-gū Shrine (日光東照宮), referenced extensively in Tenkai Zuifeng's spell cards. Curiously, when thinking of locations in Izumo (出雲)[d], he points out the Kumano Grand Shrine (熊野大社), where Susanoo, the slayer of Yamata no Orochi is enshrined. Although he then realises that he didn't tell the story related to the Kumado Grand Shrine yet, and asks the viewers to forget about hearing that bit. He also mumbles another location, which is apparently "going to be in the series, of course," though he has apparently not been to it before.
Kanae adds that he's never been to the Kumano Grand Shrine either, due to how far away it is, but that he would indeed like to go on a "holy pilgrimage" to all these "holy sites" that he bases his creation on, since there's a lot that one can learn from actually going to the places. Especially with Shinto shrines, Kanae spends a lot of time researching them, like the architectural style the main hall was made in, or the words carved into the shrine and the objects around it. Sometimes very crucial information is written in Sanskrit at these places, but their Wikipedia pages apparently don't mention them at all, which frustrates Kanae. All this adds up to make him prefer to visit these locations in person, rather than just looking them up online or reading about them in books.
(ゲーム製作の技術的な側面(作画、作曲、プログラミング等)についての話を聞いてみたいなと思いました。専門的になっちゃいそうですが。制作がんばってください!)
He notes that it may be a better idea to ask professionals in their respective fields to get higher-quality information, since much of what he knows is self-taught and might not make the best reference.
On his experience with working in Unity|, Kanae mentions that he couldn't really find any other solo developer using Unity, so that might be of use to others. Like how to manage save data and game resources between the game and the server.
Though he also notes that he absolutely does not recommend making an online game alone like he is doing right now. Kanae adds that games really aren't something to be done all on your own, though he has his own reasons that he might elaborate on another day.
On a separate note, Kanae was asked how he made his Vtuber model, which he replied saying that he used Live2D. The animations in BotC were also made using Live2D.
For drawing, he uses Paint Tool SAI and recently, occasionally Clip Studio Paint. Since he feels he's reached the limits of what SAI can do, like with the number of layers and its memory limit, which limited his canvas size, he's moved on to using SAI 2. He thinks it's quite good, but his biggest complaint with it is that the background cannot be set to be transparent by default.
For music composition, he uses Domino and Cubase, along with an SD-20 and SC-88 Pro. He mentions that he prefers using Domino as the lag between pressing a key on his piano keyboard and the sound actually being played is apparently quite long when using Cubase.
- Kanae mentions that he's been very busy the past two months.
- He's been working on BotC, preparing for the Vtuber debut and working on another major project.
- Someone in chat mentions that Kanae seems to eat a lot of fast food.
- He says that that's not actually true, and he usually eats it once a month at most.
- He also mentions that he hasn't been drinking recently, since it costs quite a lot. Though he does receive alcohol from his friends and acquaintances at times, which he sparingly drinks.
- Considered what games to play during tomorrow's gaming stream, but halfway through he went on a tangent about rhythm games:
- Kanae apparently used played a lot of DrumMania.
- As a kid, he couldn't reach the bass pedal from the tall chair the player sits on, so he used auto-bass. However, even once he got tall enough to reach the pedal, he had gotten so used to auto-bass that he found playing it hard.
- He was apparently quite good at the game as a kid, to the point where there wasn't a song he couldn't clear. However, he hasn't played recently, and with the addition of twin pedals, he thinks he wouldn't be nearly as good now.

- Livestream Description
動作確認の段階で分かった、これバカゲーだわ |
I realised it the moment I tested the game, it's dumb. |
- Summary
Nothing notable was said due to Kanae being preoccupied with the game's absurd nature.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ A reference to the "A Hundred Tales" (百物語 hyaku monogatari) parlour game, where participants gather at night in rooms lit by a hundred candles and take turns telling horror stories, extinguishing a candle for each one. Once the 100th candle is extinguished, a spirit of some sort is said to be summoned.
- ↑ Possibly about the (potential) connections between Taira no Fumikado, Sese Kitsugai and Para. Although there are other characters with green hair as well, albeit in different shades: Aoji Shitodo, Shou Amanomori, Adagumo no Saragimaru and Kujiru Kesa.
- ↑ Here it refers to real-life locations highly impactful or significant to a fictional series.
- ↑ It's unclear whether he's referring to the modern Izumo City or the historical Izumo Province.
