Resistances[edit]

The resistances screen is divided into 3 columns, "Elemental Resistance", "Debuff Resistance" and "Status Ailment Resistance". A positive number indicates resistance while a negative number indicates weakness, zero indicates that the unit is neither strong nor weak in that field. In addition, blue text indicates a significant resistance and red text indicates a significant weakness.

  • Elemental Resistance: Indicates whether the unit would take increased or decreased damage against an attack of that particular element.
  • Debuff Resistance: Indicates whether the unit has an increased or decreased chance of being afflicted with that debuff. All basic stats mentioned above can be reduced by a debuff, in addition to a debuff to cast speed which increases the number of turns needed to cast a spell.
  • Status Ailment Resistance: Indicates whether the unit has an increased or decreased chance of being afflicted with that debuff. All status ailments are as follows:
Status Ailment Description
Poison Poison () Unit takes damage at the beginning of every turn they are afflicted.

Unit Management[edit]

Players begin the game with only 1 combat unit, Yabusame Houlen [EE], while new units can be obtained through the β Version Battle Unit Gacha (β

Tactics[edit]

Tactics decide the role a unit takes on when put on auto-battle and can be changed anytime mid-battle, by disabling auto-battle on one of your units' turns and going into the unit details screen.

Spells[edit]

Each unit has a normal attack and can have up to 4 spells, as well as a bomb and flashbomb spell.

  • Bomb: A bomb spell can be instantly activated without consuming MP by consuming a certain number of bombs. Each stage allows a certain amount of bombs to be brought in, and some may seal bombs off entirely.
  • Flashbomb: During combat, the flashbomb gauge increases as turns pass and actions are taken, to a maximum of 7. A certain amount of the gauge can be consumed to activate a flashbomb spell, putting the unit into "flashbomb standby". If the unit is hit during the standby turn, a certain percentage of damage taken will be reduced and the spell's effects will take place.

All spells are separated into 9 elements and 6 systems:

Combat Unit Enhancement (戦闘ユニット強化)[edit]

To strengthen a unit, experience (EXP), combat money and discs are required. EXP can be earned randomly through the cafe gacha or by clearing combat stages, while combat money can only be obtained through clearing stages. Discs are separated into two types: Unit-specific discs, which only work on the specified unit, and rank-specific discs, which work on all units of that rank. Unit-specific discs can be obtained by getting a duplicate of a unit, while rank-specific discs are obtained as various rewards. When consuming discs, any combination of unit-specific and rank-specific discs may be used.

Core Enhancement: Leveling Up[edit]

Each unit starts at level 01 and levels up through earning EXP to a maximum of 90 levels. Level-ups increase some or all of a unit's base stats. While all units participating in a battle gain the amount of EXP listed at the battle result screen, the same amount of EXP is also added to an overall EXP pool, which can be found in the "Core Enhancement" (コア強化) screen. This pool may also be added to by obtaining Battle Unit EXP Cards EXP here can be given to any owned units, making it possible to level units not actively used in any party.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon at the Core Enhancement menu:

Lv. 90 is currently the maximum, but I plan to allow this limit to be raised in the future.

Core Mutation: Awakening Traits[edit]

Each unit can awaken up to 4 traits in addition to their Inherent Trait and traits obtained through depth. They are obtained randomly by consuming "Zero Base Cores" (ゼロベースコア) to perform a "Core Mutation" (コア変異). There are two types of ZBCs, which affect the rarity of traits obtained. Black ZBCs cost 800 combat money per use and red ZBCs cost 2,000 combat money per use. Up to 9 ZBCs can be used at once, after which four traits can be chosen out of the 9 pulled.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon at the Core Mutation menu:

You can use up to 9 ZBCs at once. Along with any traits already owned by the unit, you can choose 4 out of them to teach them.
You cannot have two or more traits of the same name.
You also cannot learn traits that are already featured in a unit's inherent trait.
You can learn traits that are featured in Depth levels.
The rarity of the traits received depend on the ZBCs used.

Spell Installation & Extraction[edit]

New spells can be learnt through "Spell Installation" (スペルインストール), in which a spell chip and some combat money are consumed to teach a unit a new spell.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon at the Spell Installation menu:

スペルインストール(スペル習得)

Spell Installation (Learning Spells)

Consume spell chips you have to overwrite a new spell onto your units.
※ A spell chip can only be used to overwrite its correcsponding slot.
※ You can not extract spells learnt through overwriting slots.

Spell chips are specific to spell slot numbers, leading to potentially four versions of each spell chip at maximum, although some spells are slot-specific. Certain spell chips can be obtained as rewards from the Memories of Spells event stages, while some can only be earned through "Spell Extraction" (スペルの抽出). In Spell Extraction, any spell in a unit's initial moveset may be copied into a spell chip of the corresponding slot by consuming a certain number of discs, in which the cost is dependent on both the spell and the unit's rank.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon at the Spell Installation menu:

スペルの抽出(スペルチップ入手)

You can only extract spells that were originally on a unit.
You can not extract spells that were learnt through overwriting slots in Spell Extraction.
Even if a spell had been overwritten, the original spell can still be extracted from a unit.
The amount of Discs consumed is dependent on the spell's and unit's ranks.

Spell Augmentation[edit]

Spells can be enhanced through "Spell Augmentation" (スペル深化), in which corresponding spell chips and spell enhancement items are consumed to raise a spell's depth level.
A spell enhancement memory of the corresponding attack system gives +1 point, one that is applicable to all systems gives +10 points and a spell chip gives +1000 points.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon at the Spell Installation menu:

スペル深化(スペル強化)

Spell Augmentation (Enhancing Spells)

All unit's spells can be enhanced.

  • By consuming "spell enhancement items" of the corresponding spell rank and attack system or "spell chips" of the same spell, points are saved onto the spell.
  • Once a certain about of points are saved, the depth level of the spell increases and the spell is enhanced. (Spells do not necessarily get enhanced at every depth level.)
  • The amount of points gained varies with the item used.
  • At the current moment, a maximum depth level of 100 can be reached.
  • When a spell slot is overwritten by spell installation, its depth level is reset to 0.

Core Augmentation: Increasing Depth[edit]

Each unit has 4 depth levels, each of which can be unlocked by consuming a number of discs and money in "Core Augmentation" (コア深化). The required discs and money are as follows:

Material Unit Rank Depth 1 Depth 2 Depth 3 Depth 4 Total
Discs Rank S 100 100 100 100 400
Rank A 100 100 100 100 400
Rank B 100 200 300 400 1000
Rank C 100 200 500 1200 2000
Rank D 100 400 1000 2500 4000
Money 5000 10000 15000 20000 50000

Currently, Rei-kun is the only unit that does not follow the above table, requiring 100 discs for depth level 01, 400 discs for level 02, 1000 discs for level 03 and 2500 discs for level 04.

While abilities earned through unlocking depths vary from unit to unit, common abilities include:

  • Unlocking bombs (Depth 1)
  • Unlocking flashbombs (Depth 2)
  • Unlocking inherent traits (Depth 3)
  • Unlocking party skills (Depth 4)
  • Increasing all base stats by 5% (Every Depth)
  • Increasing various stats
  • Obtaining various traits

"Base stats" refer to HP, MP, ATK, S.ATK, DEF, S.DEF & SPD.

Mimetic Override[edit]

Unlike the other upgrade options, "Mimetic Override" (擬態オーバーライド) serves no practical purpose, but instead allows the player the make a unit take on another's appearance. Also unlike the others, only unit-specific discs can be used in Appearance Override. Regardless of the units' ranks, 100 unit-specific discs of the desired appearance are needed.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon at the Appearance Override menu:

You can change the appearance of your units.
Nothing changes outside of their appearance.
You can only use the unit-specific DISC of your target unit, and not the rank discs.

Party Formation[edit]

Each stage has its own requirement on the party formation, which are categorized based on the number of units in it, they are:

Party Formation Number of Units

The player could have saved up to 10 combinations for each formation type, for 60 total patterns. Prior to each battle, the player has the option to freely set their units within their playing field; or they may go with the default preset for each formation.

Memory Archives[edit]

The Memory Archives (記憶の書庫) is where the combat portion of the game can be accessed, currently with 4 types of stages available:

  • Event Stages (イベント): To aquire spell chips.
  • Daily Stages (デイリー): Playable once per day to gain large amounts of EXP and money, as well as to obtain ZBCs and DISCs.
  • Back Issue Stages (バックナンバー): Re-experience the stories of the Len'en series so far in a Book of the Cafe battle style. (Only Evanescent Existence is currently available.)
  • Memories of Fierce Battles (歴戦の記憶): Challenge especially powerful foes.

In addition, the Quest and Postbox menus can also be accessed from the Memory Archives.

The main goal of all combat stages is to defeat all enemies within 20 turns. A battle is lost if all player units fall in battle; if 20 turns have passed without defeating all enemy units, all player units immediate get their health reduced to 0 and fall in battle, leading to a loss. While players are free to challenge any stage available in any order, the easy difficulty of a stage must be completed to unlock the normal difficulty variant, so on and so forth. Some Back Issue stages also require the player to have at least cleared the easy variant of the previous stage to move on to the next.

The following text can be seen by tapping the question mark (?) icon in the Memory Archives:

It's finally here, the so-called story and combat part of the game.
● By clearing the entirety of "Evanescent Existence [Yabusame Houlen] Route" in the Back Issue Stages, you can obtain the S rank unit "Tsubakura enraku [EE]"! (Once after clearing it on Easy difficulty.)

● For now you can start by doing all the Daily stages and then move onto the Back Issue stages~.

● Stamina is not consumed if you fail a stage! It's only consumed when you manage to clear it so feel free to give it a go~!

● Due to various reasons, the story scenes are currently sealed off. The β version of the scenes will be added in a later update, along with the Unreal difficulty level.

● Stages with a specific unit requirement can not be played unless said unit is in your party. You can check who these unit(s) are by tapping the "!" mark next to the formation name.

● [Bombs] are specific skills that a unit can use without consuming MP or casting time.
The number of bombs consumed differs depending on the skill and the number of bombs available each stage is predetermined.
There are also stages where bombs are completely unavailable. A unit must have a Depth level of 01 or above to use bombs.

● When using a [Flash Bomb], a unit enters a "Flash Bomb Standby State" for a turn.
If the unit is damaged during this state, they received reduced damage and perform a counter-attack.
Depending on the skill, the counter-attack may not trigger if there are no targets within the skill's area of effect.
Flash gauges are consumed to use flash bombs.
The flash gauge automatically increases each turn, as well as with various actions.
How many bars are needed varies with the skill.
A unit must have a Depth level of 02 or above to use flash bombs.

● Skills with the [Homing] trait are used on specific enemy units.
You can select your target by either tapping them directly on the stage, or by tapping their portrait on the right side of the screen.
Homing skills hit their target no matter where they may move to.

Stamina[edit]

Each stage costs a certain amount of stamina to enter, although stamina is only consumed if the stage is successfully cleared. EXP and combat money are rewarded to the player proportionate to how much stamina was spent to enter the stage. Stamina can be recovered from the Stamina Recover Screen, which is accessible either by attempting to enter a stage with insufficient stamina, or by selecting the small plus (+) icon next to the stamina bar on the Memory Archives screen, stamina can be refilled up to 999 stamina points. At the start of the game you have 151 stamina points and stamina cap can be increased by leveling up your cafe, with max cap being 250 at level 100.

Stage Clear Rewards[edit]

All stages have a first-time clear reward of 50 ink gems, as well as a 1% chance of dropping a "1,000 Combat Unit EXP Card" every time beaten. With the exception of the EXP and money daily stages, all combat stages have the following missions, which reward 30 ink gems each:

  • Clear without deaths.
  • Clear within 5 turns.
  • Clear within 10 turns.

Stage Pause Menu[edit]

By selecting the cog-like icon while in-combat, players can access the Stage Pause Menu, which options are as follows:

Menu Item Description
Give Up (あきらめる) End the battle immediately, the stage outcome is treated as a loss and consequently no stamina would be consumed.
Stage Information (ステージ情報) Review stage information, including clear conditions, stage effects, missions and enemy details.
Change Tactics (作戦変更) Change the tactics of all units.
Configuration (設定) Adjust BGM and SE volume.
Begin Auto-Grind (自動周回開始) Begin auto-grind, in which the stage will be repeatedly challenged on auto-battle until either all stamina is consumed or a loss is occurs.

Daily Stages[edit]

Daily stages offer the chance to earn items needed to enhance combat units. They cost no stamina to enter but may normally only be entered once per day. Thus they do not normally offer EXP or money upon clearing the stage. In the case of the EXP and money stages, EXP and money rewards are given according to the number of enemies defeated.
